Nothing cuter than a little girl on her birthday in a tutu...

I still can’t believe that my little girl is one years old. I feel like I was just prego with her the other day. I still feel like I should be able to sit on the couch and hold her for hours and cuddle with her anytime I want. I still feel like she should wear a newborn size, and little booties. This past year has flown by, it has by far been the best year I have had. She makes everyday wonderful, exciting and new.

She is so independent now. She is walking alone; she will go exploring through the house and leave the room that we are in. She is walking very well, getting up without the assistance of furniture, and even starting to walk faster, not quite running, but definitely walking faster.

Her birthday party was full of laughter fun and needless to say, cupcakes! We had a wonderful turnout to her party. Her little friends loved watching her open her presents and running around the room. We had her party at the Bull Golf course, because we thought our house was too small to accommodate all the people, and I didn’t want the pressure of making everything perfect for her big day! She had so much fun and only one melt down during present’s time.

I have seen several weeks prior to the party preparing, we did all homemade decorations, and balloons, table clothes and paper ware from the dollar store. We didn’t want to spend a whole lot, considering she won’t’ remember this anyway. We did cupcakes from Kroger, gold fish, Capri suns, and some homemade 1st birthday chocolate suckers. For party favors we had silly bands on the tables, Bible activity books and crayons. It worked out perfectly that her birthday is during the back to school extravaganza.

Happy Birthday Abigail!

I can't believe my little girl is one!  We made this video for her, I hope that she will treasure it as much as I do someday!  Click the "Happy Birthday Abigail" above and I think it will take you to the link.

My precious Abbyroo,

Happy Birthday to the sweetest, most precious little one year old that I know. It doesn’t seem like it has been a whole year since I held you for the first time. I honestly don’t know how I survived before you came along. You are the most wonderful blessing! I can’t believe that today you are one! I love and adore you beyond words. I am so thankful for you, your sweet smile, your little curls, your cutest little belly button, your precious little toes, your fingers, your beautiful blue eyes, and most of all your sweet little personality.

You melt my heart everytime you look me in your eyes. I will lay in the floor and you will rest your little body up against mine. You will give me the sweetest licks that I have to rub in, I crave to be with you. You are such an independent little girl right now though. You don’t want to be held, cuddled with. It definitely has to be on your terms. But when you want to sit on my lap, I gladly drop whatever I am doing and sit and hold you. I love to just stare at you and just soak up the moment.

You love to watch Mickey mouse club house. This will probably be your favorite show for a while, no matter what you are doing if you hear that hot dog song you stop and run to the tv. For some reason if you are upset, you will just stop and point at that tv and do your own little version of the hotdog dance.

We love the fact that you are walking now. You make it harder for mommy and daddy to keep up with you. I said this afternoon at your birthday party that there is nothing sweeter than a little one year old waddling around in a tutu on her birthday. How precious you are. You had a blast at your birthday party. You played hard with your friends, you opened up many presents and you indulged in a special cupcake.

This past year has been amazing. I have loved every moment with you. I am thankful that God allowed me to be your mommy! You are so special Abbyroo and we love you! Happy Birthday!!!!

Love,
Mommy :-*

Dear Abigal,

Dear Abbyroo,

You have been taking steps for a few weeks now and you are getting so brave adventuring off of your own. You will currently walk back and forth from the loveseat to the couch. You are starting to go from the couch to the TV stand. You are so proud that you can walk. You get so excited because of your accomplishments that you start to laugh and fall. We put your squeaker shoes on you today and this made you want to walk even more. You refuse to let your mommy and daddy help you. You are so precious Abby; I love to watch your little legs move. You are so precious in all that you do, don’t grow up to fast on us, it is almost your birthday!

Love you so much!

Your Mommy

Sleeping Beauty

Abigail loves her beauty sleep. We have truly been blessed since we came home from the hospital on how well she sleeps. However recently she has woken up every morning about 4:00 and wanted to eat. After she eats I have been just putting her into bed with me, which may not be the best idea, both of us could get use to this very easily. She is such a sweet cuddler. I’m sure she will be back to her old sleeping habits, but I’m hoping it’s sooner, rather than later.

Sunday Pics

I take pics of my Abbyroo most every Sunday because she already looks so cute from going to church.  She is the most precious beautiful thing I have ever seen!

Pat-a-cake Pat-a-cake bakers man!

Abigail is just learning new stuff daily. She is now standing up by herself without using furniture to help her and playing pat-a-cake, which has to be the cutest thing ever. She is such a quick learner and plays copycat with us. She will mimic our sounds and words the best she can. She has so much joy to everyday we have with her!

Dancing with Cinderella

I love to watch Jason with Abigail. Not having a father growing up that wanted anything to do with us, I never realized how special a bond between a daddy and his little girl was. I watch him with her and it just completely melts my heart. Jason and Abby do a lot of dancing, and this song comes to mind, I love this song!

Cinderella:

She spins and she sways
to whatever song plays
without a care in the world
and I'm sittin' here wearin'
the weight of the world on my shoulders.

It's been a long day
and there's still work to do.
She's pulling at me saying
Dad, i need you.
There's a ball at the castle
and I've been invited.
And I need to practice my dancin'.
Oh please, daddy please.

So I will dance with Cinderella
while she is here in my arms.
'Cause I know something the prince never knew.
Oh, I will dance with Cinderella.
I don't wanna miss even one song.
'Cause all too soon,
the clock will strike midnight
and she'll be gone.

She says he's a nice guy
and I'd be impressed.
She wants to know if I approve of the dress.
She says,
Dad the prom is just one week away
and I need to practice my dancin'
Oh please, daddy please.

So I will dance with Cinderella
while she is here in my arms.
'Cause I know something the prince never knew.
I will dance with Cinderella
I don't wanna miss even one song.
'Cause all too soon the clock with strike midnight
and she'll be gone.
She will be gone.

Well she came home today
with a ring on her hand,
just glowing and telling us all they had planned.
She says,
Dad the wedding's still six months away
and I need to practice my dancin'
Oh please, daddy please.

So I will dance with Cinderella
while she is here in my arms
'Cause I know something the prince never knew.
I will dance with Cinderella
I don't wanna miss even one song
'Cause all too soon the clock will strike midnight
and she'll be gone.

Rain Rain go away!

What a wonderful day with friends who we consider family on this Fourth of July! We had an absolute blast at Claude and Rosemary’s home today. Such a wonderful family to invite us and others over to share Fourth of July. Abigail had her 1st time in the big pool today. She clung very close to her mama, but about a few minutes she was ready to face the waters and was so brave. She was a little to fearless for me to be comfortable.

This was our first year going to the Rhorer’s home where it didn’t rain. We usually are all cramped in the garage waiting for the storm to pass. I remember sitting in the garage last year talking about how the following year we will have our little girl crawling around everywhere. Such exciting anticipation. Abigail adds just a little more joy and excitement to each day for us, and we especially get excited on holidays.

Calender Girl

Of course we had to take come 4th of July pictures for our calendar we are making for next year! I’ve had this little shirt for several months and couldn’t wait for her to wear it. Abby is harder to take pictures of these days because she is such a quick crawler. Along with 4th of July I’m excited to have some extra days off work and enjoy those at home with Abby. We don’t have much planned but maybe a trip to the park and of course on Sunday the Annual cookout at Claude and Rosemary’s! It will be Abigail’s 1st time in a big pool! I hope she loves it!

Croup Croup Croup

These pictures were taken yesterday, and looking back at them now, Abby doesn’t seem as full of life as she normally is. She woke up last night about 11:00 AM with a horrible cough. It sounded like a seal, or even a barking dog. It was very distinct in sound and it made her sound absolutely pitiful. I was up later than normal because I didn’t have to work the following day and I went in her room, hugged and rocked her for a while. Jason got the vaporizer down from the closet. We thought that would help with her conjestion and coughing noise. I got her back to sleep and she coughed on and off thorough out the night. This early morning I pulled her into bed with me and we sleep together till about 8:00. She sounded so pitiful and it brought tears to my eyes. When she cried she sounded horse. I feel like this came on all of a sudden. I called her pediatrician at 8:00 this morning when his office opened and he wanted us to bring her right in. He prescribed her a steroid. He said that it is caused as the result of a virus so antibiotics wouldn’t help it. He told us to keep the vaporizer running, and to turn our bathroom into a sauna steam room if she continues to have trouble breathing.

What broke my heart was how scared Abigail looked. She seemed frightened that she couldn’t breathe normally, much less take her bottle without having to grasp for air. We are so blessed with this little angel and we are very fortunate that she hasn’t been sick that much. So around 10:00 AM Abigail seemed to be fine and normal. No coughing and her congestion was clear, however our pediatrician told us that it will last 3-5 days, and that tonight will more than likely be worse than the night prior, we put her down to bed about 7:30 and she has already woke up 3 times coughing. I hope that she gets some rest this evening. Also the steroid that she is on makes her really hungry, kind of agitated. She took one nap in the morning and was up all afternoon. He said the medicine would probably make her not want to sleep, and I think she is proving him right. I’m praying for a speedy recovery – she is too sweet to feel sick!
