Singing / Playing Piano

It's kind of funny but I am so use to playing on the keyboard, I feel a little awkward playing on a normal piano. It is kind of like driving someone else's car, you can do it, but it is plain awkward. I know with a keyboard the way it feels with the weighted keys and I am use to it. I also know that it is in tune.  Unfortunately we don't own a piano; however we own 2 full size keyboards, one we keep at our church and one for me to play on here. Jason and I are going to Beattyville tomorrow to visit with family. We are going to be visiting the church that Jason grew up in, Grace Baptist church. It has been several years since we have been to the church; they have gone through a building project and have a whole new sanctuary that we haven’t seen yet. Whenever Jason visits he is requested to sing several songs and tomorrow we are going to be singing / playing: God with us, Surrender and You are God Alone. I absolutely love all three of these songs. I have listed the lyrics below on the songs. I always get a little nervous playing on a different piano because of the way the keys feel, and also because of my music, I'm always afraid that it will fall! If you are a piano player you absolutely know what I'm talking about, one of the songs we are doing is like 10 pages long with several repeats, and a Coda, and so I am flipping back and forth. I have my page turning mastered on my piano at home, and fully it will go smoothly tomorrow on their piano. This will be the first time that Abby has been to a different church besides Durbin, but she will have her grandma and grandpa there tomorrow to hold her while we play, I know that she is looking forward to it. She will probably wonder why she can't sit on my lap while me and Jason play / sing. I love that music is part of her.
Jason has sung to her since we found out we were prego. He has written her two songs that are absolutely breathtaking. I will have to ask his permission before posting the lyrics to those on here. One of them is a funny bluegrass jingle, and the other is such a sweet song that brings tears to my eyes. He first sang it to us when I was 39 weeks prego, so my emotions were wild anyway, but it is very heartfelt and I know that she will treasure it the way that I do. She absolutely loves music. If it is playing while she is in her baby Einstein she will boogie by bouncing and it looks like a river dance. If she is sitting on the floor while music is playing her little feet go in circles and she taps her foot. We both hope that she loves music as much as we do. I would love to teach her the piano and Jason already lets her pick on his guitar. I can see her when she is about 3 year’s old singing deep and wide with her daddy at church. Let’s not wish away the next couple of years though :-)

Here are the lyrics to the songs we are singing / playing

God with Us - Mercy Me
Verse 1: Who are we, that You would be mindful of us?
What do You see, that's worth looking our way?
We are free, in ways that we never should be.
Sweet release, from the grip of these chains.
Like hinges straining from the weight, my heart no longer can keep from singing.

[chorus]: All that is within me cries.
For You alone be glorified Emmanuel, God with us.
My heart sings a brand new song.
The debt is paid these chains are gone.
Emmanuel, God with us.

Verse 2: Lord You know, our hearts don't deserve Your glory.
Still You show, a love we cannot afford.
Like hinges straining from the weight, my heart no longer can keep from singing.

Bridge: Such a tiny offering, compared to Calvary, nevertheless we lay it at your feet.
Such a tiny offering, compared to Calvary, nevertheless we lay this at your feet.

Surrender - Jeremy Camp
Verse 1:Purify this tainted soul
I'm tired of living life a fool
Soften up this hardened clay
To be a servant, this I pray
A reflection of You, I long to be
So Your kingdom I will seek

Chorus: I surrender to Your throne
Oh, I surrender to Your throne
I will make my heart Your home
Oh, I surrender to Your throne

Verse 2: I've taken things I thought my own
Only to reap what I've sown
You've given back the years I fought
An ending love and grace You've brought
Eternal hope and peace You bring
And forever unto You I will sing

I surrender to Your throne
Oh, I surrender to Your throne
And I will make my heart Your home
Oh, I surrender to Your throne

Forever unto You I will sing
Forever unto You I will sing
Forever unto You I will sing
Forever unto You I will sing
I surrender
I surrender
I surrender, now
Oh, I surrender
And I surrender
And I surrender, now
Oh, I surrender
I surrender
I surrender
Oh, I surrender
I surrender
I surrender, now

You are God Alone - Phillips, Craig & Dean
Verse 1: You are not a god
Created by human hands
You are not a god
Dependant on any mortal man
You are not a god
In need of anything we can give
By Your plan, that’s just the way it is

chorus: You are God alone
From before time began
You were on Your throne
Your are God alone
And right now
In the good times and bad
You are on Your throne
You are God alone

Verse 2: You’re the only God
Whose power none can contend
You’re the only God
Whose name and praise will never end
You’re the only God
Who’s worthy of everything we can give
You are God
And that’s just the way it is

Bridge: You’re Unchangeable, You’re unshakeable, You’re unstoppable,
That’s what You are
